I don’t really like tags in general. I guess I always think of those pointless tag videos kids do on youtube. Beauty tags are a bit better, at least they have a proper theme, nevertheless there was none I would like enough to do it too. Then Amelia and Estée published Lip Product Addict Tag a year ago. Even though I fell in love with the idea, I wasn’t really using lipsticks that much at the time so I thought there was no point in sharing my answers. And I’m glad I’ve waited! In the last year I’ve completely changed my opinion on lip makeup and my collection doubled (or maybe tripled?). Anyway, I thought now would be the right time to do this fun tag and I hope you’ll like it.
1. Favorite balm/treatment?
I have two winners in this category. My current favourite and most used lip balm is Clarins Moisture Replenishing Lip Balm (review here). But I also coudn’t not to mention Nuxe Reve De Miel even thought it’s been a bit neglected for the past few weeks. I still think it’s perfect for matte lipsticks and those who prefer mineral oil free, natural cosmetics.
2. Best eye-catching red?
I love many reds from my collection so I had to thought about this one really hard. After I considered all the little things like colour, pigmentation, texture, scent and how it feels on the lips I could choose only one, NARS Semi Matte lipstick in ‘Red Lizard’. It’s a classic red, a bit darker but not as dark as it looks in the tube. It’s not completely matte so it wears a bit more comfortable on the lips but stays on as long as any matte lipstick.
3. Best luxury & best drugstore?
Is there a girl who doesn’t love YSL lipsticks? I guess not, just look at that packaging! But YSL Rouge Volupte Shine are not just a pretty face. Their texture is so nice, lighter shades are creamy but the brighter ones are like glossy gels. You can use them layered or just patted into the lips like a stain. My current favourite is the shade no. 19 Fuchsia in Rage.
And for the drugstore category, after long thinking, I chose the Maybelline Velvet Lip Pencil range. It has great shades, perfect pigmentation, almost-matte finish and unbelievable staying power.
4. Best MAC lipstick?
I’m sorry but I can’t choose only one! MAC has such a vast range of shades and formulas and my taste also changes with season. Right now my two most used colours are Impassioned (on the left) and Girl About Town (on the right). They are both from the ‘Amplified’ range. That means they are creamy, fully charged with pigment and long lasting. And FYI, just a couple of months ago (in winter) I loved Plumful the most.
5. The most disappointing?
Revlon Lip Butters, no doubts there. Not that I wouldn’t like the product itself. I think the balmy texture is really nice and I love how they wear on the lips. That’s why I believe the hype is justified and I was very excited after I finally got my hands on some of them. However, my problem lies with the ingredients. Every time I wear them, about 30 minutes in, I start to get these weird small painful bumps around the contours of my lips which take days to disappear. It’s very frustrating and disappointing indeed…
6. Liner – yes or no?
When we’re talking bold lips, my answer is definitely YES. You can never get the edges as sharp with only a lip brush or the lipstick itself. But I don’t use them for the lighter shades or stains, can’t see the point. However if someone has naturally very blurry lip contours I think a nude lip liner can make them look much better and well put together.
7. Best gloss?
Honestly, I don’t really like glosses and how they make your lips look wet and greasy. Not to mention that most of them are so sticky! But of course there are some exceptions and one of them is the Maybelline Colorsensetional Shine Gloss range. They are comfortable, have no stickiness to them at all and they smell amazing, like a fruit candy. Plus the brighter shades are quite well pigmented so if I had to chose I would pick them.
8. Something extra!
I could never do a proper post about my favourite lip products without mentioning the Clinique Chubby Sticks. They were my absolutely most used products for such a long time. I just can’t go wrong with them when I want to wear something hydrating and subtle.
So that’s it. It’s more challenging to actually choose that it looks like! Anyway, I don’t want to tag anyone particular because it’s such an old tag. But if you want to do this tag too I would love if you’d let me know.
Awesome picks! I need to try that Clarins balm, my current favourite is the Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream.

I want to try the 8 hour cream so much! It sounds like such a lovely multitasking product. <3
I bought revlon lip butters just because of the hype and I couldn’t agree more on the quality of these balms! I had a weird reaction to them! Lovely post zuzka
Really? I’ve never heard of anyone else who would got it! That’s so weird.
I LOVE Mac Impassioned! It’s one of the only Mac lipsticks I’ve fully used and repurchased
PS: love your images. I just found your site and your photography is stunning!!!

It’s such a beautiful vivid shade, isn’t it! I just used it in my new daily makeup post :).
