Can you smell it in the air? Sun is shining, grass is getting greener and first trees are starting to bloom. To celebrate the comeback of my favourite season I’ve done this colourful, happy and spring-themed ombre nails today.
As always I started off with a base coat (OPI Nail Envy) and then I painted my nails with white nail polish (Essie Blanc). After they were almost completely dry, I took a makeup sponge and used light blue (Bourjois So Laque Glossy in ‘Adora Bleu), pastel yellow (SinfulColors in ‘Unicorn’) and a baby pink (Essie ‘Need a Vacation’) nail polish. To create this ombre effect, instead of painting the stripes in a row I did one horizontal and 2 vertical lines in a rectangle shape. Then I just alternated the position of the sponge so each nail looked different. To achieve the perfect opacity I sponged every nail twice.
While the nail polish was still a bit wet I applied a generous amount of a fast drying topcoat (Essie ‘Good To Go’) so the transition between the colours would look even more seamless.
Overall I’m really pleased how this design turned out and it makes me happy every time I look at my nails. Make sure to leave me a comment and a link if you did/want to do a similar manicure yourself.
