Nails of the week #7 – Essie winter 2013

Posted on .

You know I’m a huge Essie lover. So as soon as the new limited edition for Winter 2013 hit the stores I had to buy at least three of the new shades (3 was my limit but might be going back for another one later, psst).

I chose Toggle To The Top, Parka Perfect and Sable Collar because I don’t have anything similar in my collection.
Toggle To The Top is a deep wine red glitter. To me it’s like a Christmas in a bottle. Sometimes glitter polishes can look a little over-the-top but not in this case. On the contrary, it looks very chic and sophisticated. You could probably get away with one thick coat but I used 2 as usual and the opacity and depth is just gorgeous.
Parka Perfect is a dusty grey/blue with a very subtle shimmer. Even though the shimmer is quite obvious in the bottle you can hardly see in on nails even on a direct sunlight. The thing I love the most about it it’s how it changes the colour in different lightnings from light blue to grey. With this nail polish 2 coats are necessary.
Sable Collar is officially described as a shimmery cocoa plum. Well there’s brown and plum in it so I guess they are right. Also the shimmers look pretty coppery to me. The formula is really nice and creamy and you will need 1 or 2 coats.

For more awesome swatches of the whole collection visit The PolishAholic. I think her photos caught the colours most accurately.

Which one from this collection is your favourite? Will you try some of them?
