October favourites

Posted on .

I’m sorry I didn’t do a month favourite post last month but I just couldn’t find enough things that would stand out for me in that time. October favourites, on the other hand, are full of amazing products. Three of them you can see me wearing in my last FOTD.

The first thing I’m gonna talk about is Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation. I have it in a shade 51 which could be a little more neutral toned but it’s still a pretty good match for me. I’m sure everybody heard about this one and I also wanted to pick it up sooner but the lightest shade available in Slovakia is 52. No, I don’t get it either. So I waited until it was added on ASOS website and then took advantage of their 30% off Bourjois.
The coverage of this foundation is light to medium and buildable in my opinion. The application with RT Buffing Brush is smooth and easy to blend. It doesn’t last up to 16 hours for sure but I can pull off about 8 hours with small touch ups on my forehead and nose about half way through. The finnish is not matte nor dewy, just very natural looking. I would say this is a really good foundation for my combination skin.

Other two items on my list of favourites are two cream blushes. The first is Stila Convertible Color in the shade ‘Gerbera’. I already talked about it in this post. And the other one is Max Factor Creamy Blush in Soft Murano. At first I hated this blush (in the shade Soft Pink) because I think it’s hard to work with. It’s consistency is more solid and sticky than the Stila CC. But when I managed to apply Soft Pink nicely with RT Stippling Brush I bought another one in the shade Soft Murano. I’ve picked up this shade because I wanted a blush what was not pink/coral/peach. This one looks slightly berry-like in the pan but it a pretty reddish darker pink. It gives a natural glow to my face, like I just came home after chilly walk outside. And that’s what we want, isn’t it?

The last makeup item is The Body Shop Honey Bronzing Powder in the shade 01. It’s an exceptionally light matte bronzer. When I saw this on Estee from essiebutton, I knew I must have it. Finally someone thought about us, pale girls out there. This is the perfect bronzer for a pale complexion if you want to add some colour and define your cheek bones slightly, but you still want to look it like you have no bronzer on. I always had to be light handed when it came to bronzing but no more. I can write here and now, this is my HG bronzer for spring/autumn/winter.

And of course, I always have to include some nail polish. No, it’s not the famous Essie After School Blazer. It’s Essie’s Bobbing For Baubles. The darkest grey-blue out there that you still can’t mistake for black. Well, maybe you can in a bad lightning. But in a natural light it looks absolutely gorgeous.

What made it to your list of this month’s favourites? Also make sure to check out my latest post to see some of these products in action.
