What’s in my bag – beauty essentials

The content of my handbag alway vary depending on the season, day and occasion. But whether I’ll be out for a whole day or even an hour, there are some bits and pieces that I can never leave the house without. And of course, the majority of them are beauty products.

I’ll start with the two things I keep separately. The first one is Nivea Express Care hand fluid. I don’t use it at home because I usually need something more hydrating for my always dry hands. But this non-greasy and very fast absorbing hand cream is just perfect on the go when you need something very quick and moderately moisturising.
The other thing I keep apart in one of the side pockets are Shiseido Oil-Control Blotting Paper Sheets. These very lightly powdered mattifying blotting papers are essential for a girl with combination/oily skin. I prefer using papers to a powder because firstly, they are much easier to carry around than a powder and a brush; and secondly, you will never end up looking cakey. And by the way, did you know that even if you blot with powder, you are supposed to use a tissue first to get rid of the oil anyway?

All the other beauty items in my handbag are kept in this small Victoria’s Secret makeup bag. The first thing a girl can’t be without is a mirror. Mine is just a simple black&red polka dot one from ASOS. Then a little perfume sample in the case of emergency. Currently I’m carrying around the Marc Jacobs Honey perfume which smells amazing and I’m planning on picking up the full size.
The next thing I can’t leave house without is a cuticle moisturiser. And a girl has to have her options, right? That’s why there are always two in my handbag. The first is The Body Shop Almond Nail & Cuticle Oilwhich I use when I need a quick fix and I’m not sure about hygiene of my fingertips and the other one is a mini version of Burt’s Bees Lemon Cuticle Cream. (But sometimes I suspect myself of keeping it close only for smelling purposes :) )

At last but certainly not least, lip products. We all have to carry a whole bunch of them, I’m sure, and my makeup bag is full of my favourites. The best lip balm out there is the Nuxe Reve De Miel. And when I want the best moisturising properties AND a gorgeous tint, I opt for the Korres Lip Butter in ‘Quince’. But sometimes sticking your finger in a pot is not an option and that’s when I reach for Bebe Young Care Intensive Care lip balm and/or a mini Clinique Chubby Stick – at the moment in ‘Super Strawberry’.

And that’s it. The core of my bag. But what beauty products can’t leave YOUR handbag?
